FIAT DUCATO II 99 Ducato earthing problem. Hi all a newbie here. I have a motorhome based on a 99 ducato chassis with the 2.8 Tdi engine. Recently whilst driving when I have switched on the headlights and cab fan heater the temp gauge reading rises above the usual 7580 degrees and the more I switch on the higher it goes up to about 110 degrees.

I've been running the heater off a separate internal tank and now I want to do a proper job and connect it this time the vehicle tank. I've removed the floor cover and I can see the top. Fiat sure are frustrating. On the Ducato the Euro 4 is the replacement cartridge with the known problems. Euro 5 a complete metal filter which takes less than 5 minutes to change and euro 6 back to replacement cartridge albeit with a metal housing. In my opinion the Euro5 was the best as there was very little labour involved in replacing the filter After all, DTCs indicate the potential location and nature of the issue, not the root cause.
