audi q7 cranking but not starting
Suggesting something was spilled causing the buttons to stick, and drain the battery. I removed the chrome bezel around the center console buttons, therefore no more sticking, (eliminating the source of what the dealer says is the problem) but the starting problem has not gone away.
The three most common faults with no stored codes for engine cranks continuously but does not start: Fuel Pump. Fuel Pump Relay. Crankshaft Position Sensor. The electric fuel pump is easy to hear if you listen for it spinning inside the fuel tank. If the fuel pump makes no noise with initial ignition on then test pump and relay. The last 8 of the VI … read more It can often be the engine drive shaft speed sensor (ESS) not properly reporting to the ECU. Also the Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) may need to be cleaned (electronics cleaner spray and don't touch the element itself). Worst case would be low compression. Slow Crank. Hi all, I have a 2006 Audi Q7 3.0d - keyless push start. When I start the car from cold, the engine does not start first time. I have to press the engine start button and leave the car ignition on for around 20 seconds. Then when I fire the engine, it starts first time. A brand new battery fitted. It tends to be worse in cold weather.
