This somehow added todays steps so far to yesterdays total and logged the combined number as yesterdays steps. Garmin will not allow any external sources of steps data, or manual editing of daily steps or activity minutes, because they are contractually bound by many insurance agencies and bigger corporations, who often use the step and intensity minutes data from fitness trackers for calculating benefits in health insurance. You can do this on the app or connecting to the Garmin connect website. On the app, tap on your device (at the top). Select 'user settings'. Tap on 'Daily steps'. Note: this only works for run workouts right now. If any one requests it I can update it to work for other workout types too.
